Marcelo Cabrol

Marcelo Cabrol is the Manager of the External Relations Office at the IDB. As an expert in international development, he leads and coordinates external communication´s tasks of the Bank as well as initiatives to promote an entrepreneurial and innovative culture in the Latin American region. He is the head of Demand Solutions, a model that connects innovative thinking and creative approaches to solve development-related challenges. He previously served as head of the Education Division, a role where he redefined the strategy and priorities of the Bank, forming alliances with institutions from different sectors and expanding the scope and quality of various education programs in Latin America. Marcelo has a degree in economics and graduated from Georgetown University (Masters and PhD ABD) in Public Policy and Government. He was also a professor at Georgetown University and the University of Salvador (Argentina).

Cristina Pombo

Cristina Pombo is a Colombian economist who works in the Department of External Relations at the IDB. Her work focuses on promoting the culture of innovation inside and outside the organization, connecting the challenges of development in Latin America and the Caribbean with innovative solutions and involving it in the most creative minds of the world. Previously in the IDB, she worked as a specialist in the Office of Strategic Planning and Development Effectiveness as well as an advisor to the Vice Presidency of Countries. In Colombia, she was an advisor on special innovation projects for young people at the National Federation of Coffee Growers and an academic advisor in the Faculty of Economics at the Universidad del Rosario.

She works directly with Demand Solutions, a platform for global innovators focused on inspiring innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship, because she firmly believes in innovation and creativity as a development tool to improve lives.

Claudia Sáenz Zulueta

Claudia Sáenz Zulueta is a communications consultant in the External Relations Division of the Inter-American Development Bank and manages the content on social media for GRADUATE XXI, the initiative to prevent high school dropouts in Latin America.

Claudia has a degree in Communication Sciences. Before joining the IDB she worked as a bilingual educator.

Axel Rivas

He is the Lead Investigator on the Center for the Implementation of Public Policies on Equity and Growth (CIPPEC for its acronym in Spanish).

He is the director of the audiovisual education portal Las 400 clases.

He is a professor at the Pedagogical University of Buenos Aires, University of San Andrés (UdeSA), Universidad Torcuato Di Tella (UTDT) and FLACSO-Argentina.

He is the author of ten books, including: Revivir las aulas, Viajes al futuro de la educación y “América Latina después de PISA. Lecciones aprendidas de la educación en siete países (2000-2015)”.

He is a Doctor of Social Sciences, UBA, Argentina and did doctoral studies at the Institute of Education, University of London.

Gádor Manzano

Gádor Manzano is a Communications Senior Specialist at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the executive producer for the movie entitled ¨The Empty Classroom¨. Before joining the IDB, she managed educational programs for various NGOs and worked for international media communications.

Her areas of interest and research include education public policy, school dropout prevention, communications and immigration.

She has a LLM in law from Georgetown University, where she graduated with honors, as well as an MA in International Relations and Communications from Boston University, and Licenciaturas in Law from the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, and in Journalism from the Universidad Complutense. She is admitted to practice law in Spain and the US.

Lucas Delgado

He is a journalist and the director of Sobre Tiza, an online journal on educational innovation and digital inclusion. Social Communication Sciences with Orientation in Communication and Educational Processes.
